Rhythm & Blades Synchronized Skating Teams

Rhythm & Blades Teams in Action

2025–2026 Season

About Rhythm & Blades

Parents, do you want to know why your skater should join one of our teams? Check out this video

Our coaches have guided our teams to a national pewter medal, nine sectional medals, and countless non-qualifying championships. Our alumni have gone on to skate on Senior, Junior, and Collegiate teams. Synchronized Skating is a wonderful team experience. See the descriptions below if you are interested in joining a team.

Beginner “Aspire Synchro Team” Starting Level

We run classes in the fall, spring, and summer for skaters who want to try synchronized skating. We have a competitive team that normally competes at one competition and does several exhibitions. The team also skates in the ice show. Details can be found on the Aspire 3 Team Information page.

Aspire 4 Level Team

We have an Aspire 4 level team. If you have passed your Pre-Preliminary or Preliminary Skating Skills test, this team is for you. A team at this level has 5–20 skaters 17 years of age and younger as of the preceding July 1st. Details can be found on the Aspire 4 Team Information page.

Synchro Team Placement

Open Juvenile Team

We have an Open Juvenile level team. A team at this level consists of 8–20 skaters under age 20. It is a very competitive division. We require skaters to have passed a minimum of the Pre-Bronze Skating Skills test and expect many skaters on this team to have passed higher tests than this. Details can be found on the Open Juvenile Team Information page.

Intermediate Team

We would like to field an Intermediate level team again in the future. This team is for skaters who have passed a minimum of their Pre Silver Skating Skills test.

What is a Team?

Synchronized skating involves a team of skaters performing various elements and formations such as circles, wheels, and blocks to music. Teams vary in size from as small as 8 up to 20 skaters. Synchronized skating will increase your stroking power, improve your edges, teach you new turns, footwork, presentation skills, as well as counting and moving to the beat of music. It also provides an opportunity to make new friends and learn about being part of a team in a largely individualized sport.

Team Philosopy

We intend to have a positive environment in which skaters will learn the skills needed for their current team level and build new skills that they can take to a higher level.
